![]() They did, fresh out of the box.īut first let me say that a couple of other guys were checking it out, which let me hear it at a distance. I stopped by Guitar Center in Hollywood to see if they had a kit set-up. Now in a seriously strange turn of coincidence, it just so happens that my beloved girlfriend was in the process of knitting me a scarf that is guess what color? Well, not exactly, but pretty damn close…Īnd there you have it: the great quest for Questlove’s Breakbeat kit low-down has been solved, which means we can all: I have wanted Ludwig to come out with a cool little jazz kit for a long time, and if this it it and does the trick, I’m in. The 16″ kick comes with a riser, which sounds very interesting. Other than the small kick, my maple Centennials have very similar sizes. So, this little kit that I am looking forward to has a 5×14 snare, 10″ rack tom, 13″floor tim and a 16″ kick. I posted what I had just found on the Ludwig-Musser FB page with hopes of hearing more soon… and about 3 hours later, BAM! ![]() Okay, select wood it is… whatever that might be. Seriously, can you imagine your cell phone service being even remotely this helpful? So, he told me all he knew, and I really appreciated the fact that he took the time to do some legwork. “The literature we have… hmmm… says… made of select wood, 7-ply, imported, by the people who do the Elements series…” ![]() So, he did, with his headset in tow, and basically told me this: The very helpful guy on the other end of the phone said he didn’t know but that he would walk down to some office and find out. “Hi, I saw the new Questlove Breakbeats kit and was wondering if you could tell me what the shells were made of?” Time for Plan B: call Conn-Selmer, the parent company, in Elkhart, Indiana, and ask them. They’d be answering questions all day and night and have little time to make drums… They had it in the warehouse, but no info on the shells…Īllrighty… well then, why not just call Monroe, North Carolina and ask someone at the factory?Įasier said… seems that number is not exactly hung out on a shingle, which is understandable. Available in five stunning finishes, the Backbeat gives you Ludwig tradition and quality in a complete package at a price that's hard to beat.I then called Guitar Center in Hollywood. All hardware is double braced for extra strength and stability. ![]() ![]() The 7-ply hardwood shells with 45º bearing edges deliver a punch and tone that's versatile and will suit any style of music. Designed to give aspiring drummers a solid foundation at a great price, it includes a five piece shell pack, hi-hat and crash/ride cymbals, and a full set of hardware including stands, pedals and drum throne. The Backberat drum kit is a complete 5-piece drum set that comes with everything you need to hit the stage right out of the box. Ludwig offers a full line of drums and hardware desiged to meet the needs of the beginning student all the way to the professional touring and recording drummer. Their commitment to the highest quality standards is evident in everything they make. The company's sales skyrocketed as a result, and for the next 20 years, Ludwig became the biggest name in drums in the USA. For almost 110 years, Ludwig have been a world leader in the manufacture of drums and percussion products, becoming a household name in on Feb 9th, 1964 when 73 million people watched the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show, with the Ludwig logo clearly visible of the front of Ringo Starr's bass drum. ![]() ![]() ![]() We promise tenants exceptional value and excellent service. ![]() Reveling in the imperfections of fired clay and forgoing shortcuts like slip casting, a method that involves pouring liquid clay into a mold, these artisans relish the mark of the maker. NOW, IN KEEPING with a current renaissance of craft that reflects humankind’s relationship to the natural world, a new group of artists are reimagining the animal figurine. While originals are still valued as antiques, the dogs became machine-made and thus widely available by the end of the 19th century - another victim of mass industrialization - robbing them of their original luster and offbeat charm. Each set was glazed white, hand-painted and refired, which meant that even within a duo there were always subtle differences: an eye staring into the distance, a mouth slightly upturned in a half-smile. Also made in pairs, the statuettes, which were deliberately unrealistic, retained the naïve charm of their ancient predecessors. Staffordshire dogs, largely modeled on the spaniels bred by the popular monarch Charles II, could soon be found on nearly every bourgeois English mantel. From the Potteries - six English towns in the western county of Staffordshire that had, for nearly 200 years, produced earthenware, stoneware and porcelain from local clay - came some of the most endearingly odd, enduringly influential figurines of all. ![]() Instead of depicting noble beasts or wild things, they were household creatures, loyal and benign, evincing their own kind of cozy enchantment. With a snarly demeanor and vast domed foreheads, they were fashioned from stone and came in pairs - male and female, representing yin and yang - and were also placed at the entrances of temples (and homes) for protection.īy the time the Victorians came to culturally dominate the West and its colonies in the mid-19th century, ceramic animals reflected a decidedly more domesticated cast. Foo dogs, which are actually representations of lions (Silk Road traders first brought lions to China as tributes to the Emperor), were assumed by Westerners to be canine because of their resemblance to popular Asian breeds like Shih Tzus and chow chows. At first, archaeologists wondered if the reddish, palm-size bulls they discovered had been children’s toys, but they soon realized that their function was largely spiritual - magical, even: They were totems at the site’s temple altar.īy the first millennium A.D., another species of strange and distorted fauna with a supernatural aura had emerged. Among the artifacts unearthed at the legendary 1983 archaeological dig in Jordan’s Ain Ghazal were a number of small creatures from the Neolithic period, some of the earliest objects of their kind ever found. ARTISTS HAVE MADE animals from clay for nearly as long as history has been recorded. ![]() ![]() While the UI is overall pretty solid, things are unresponsive on occasion, and when that happens it can be difficult to figure out how to correct the problem. The software is glitchy at times, and aspects of the UI seem very dated in some areas. The support team seems all-around responsive and eager to help with the occasional issues you'll encounter. This software offers the ability to make ebooks great again, and give people reasons to be excited about engaging with digital content. People wanting to educate the public and get info out there take note. The ability to make your ebooks into stunning presentations that can be fully integrated with other media make this software a really powerful tool for anyone more message-oriented as well. The ability to brand and customize your Flipbooks, while turning somewhat passe PDF's and Epubs into animated, interactive digital products that really feel like something you SHOULD be paying half to 2/3 the price of an actual book for makes this software worth its weight in gold. The monetization potential is through the roof. It's because I love the software as much as I do that I even harp on them, in the hopes that the devs will see these critiques and keep working at refining and improving the UI. The pros far outweigh the cons, and the cons that I detail are minor gripes in contrast to how pleased I am with the finished products I can crank out with this software. Our company uses Flipbook for a guide that is updated throughout the season, so we must spend $1 to publish after each update or choose to purchase unlimited updates monthly for $9.99 Last but not least, it was very disappointing to find out that after purchasing the product you must spend $1 per Flipbook published even if you are simply revising an existing Flipbook. Support was unable to help resolve this issue, though they claim it is possible. After many hours I was still not able to display a fully functioning Flipbook on my website. Another disappointment is the lack of compatibility with WordPress. It would be very helpful to have video tutorials available and organized by subject. The users manual is the only way to search for answers and/or learning the program. I was able to find the solution only by "clicking around", which was very time consuming and tedious. Furthermore, after a short time corresponding about a particular issue, the support team failed to respond. ![]() This makes it difficult to resolve and/or learn anything in a timely manner. CONSĬontacting support was a disappointment due to the lack of options to do so the only way is to open a ticket through their website and wait for a response via email. The features I appreciate most are the ability to upload PDF's quickly, the ability to add links throughout the Flipbook quickly and easily. ![]() ![]() ![]() This would be compatible with 64 bit windows. All I ever had to do when an enemy showed up was make a bee-line to the nearest door, which very quickly deflated their ability to intimidate me. The only problem is that these portions aren’t very scary. Like many other modern horror games, Moons of Madness deprives you of weapons or other means of defending yourself to maximize the feeling of helplessness and fear when something spooky shows up. Enemy encounters are, frankly, disappointing. The best of these are tied to a limited air supply mechanic where you need to refill your air tank to stay alive, and even though I never had a situation where the air supply ran dangerously low, the resupply animation is the most satisfying to look at in all of Moons of Madness thanks to its smoothness and how it sometimes changes depending on your current air level. You can pick up mugs and fill them with coffee from the coffee machine, or reset your wristwatch with a pen, and other stuff that shows off the developers’ attention to detail. There are also several instances of showy interactivity. There are some other time-wasters like how you need to follow procedure and close space doors in the proper order, lest you suffocate, but there’s nothing interesting about this so it just becomes a simulation of a chore. ![]() Environmental puzzles often boil down to finding an item and putting into the correct slot, or rotating a machine until it’s in the proper position. ![]() “In fact, there’s a lot of that padding happening in Moons of Madness, and it goes beyond just the scanning of stuff. ![]() |
